Where Do You Find God?
As the humanity moves from one precarious moment to another, more and more people seem to be losing their sense of benign existence. They ask: why do I’ve to be subjected to all those torments, disasters, tragedies, even as a witness, without being directly affected? If God exists, surely it is His responsibility to make the “things” run smoothly, and to acknowledge, that we human have made huge advances in making the world it is today. And when we find a lack of “cooperation” from God, we want to know where to find Him, so that our “case” can be presented to Him directly. Yes, we don’t want to send prays into the cosmic emptiness…
On the other hand, atheists don’t face that dilemma. For them, God doesn’t exist, and whatever course the planet Earth, and the whole Universe for that matter, takes, is just a matter of more or less complicated, scientifically determinable processes. That’s what atheists believe in. That’s right, even they believe in something, although don’t count on being able to extract this kind of admission…
Does it mean the life is easier for them, when there’s nobody to complain to and pray for the Divine intervention? You’d have to ask them; but from my faith-determined perspective, it’s just so much easier for the “rest of us.”
That granted the question remains: I want to see God – where do I find Him? And why exactly do I want to find Him? For one simple reason: I want to be close to him, in the same way as a lost child wants to be with her mother, for all the comfort and protection; for the sympathetic ear and understanding. To be provided for and to be loved. Surely, it’s easily within God’s power?
And while it almost got me complaining and feeling abandoned, a thought has crossed my mind; a recollection of what we believers learned as little children: God is everywhere. From now on, I’ll look first in my heart!
